COLLECTION
Meteorite Name: Tamdakht
Location: Morocco
Classification: H5 Ordinary Chondrite
Witnessed Fall: Yes
Date and Time: December 20, 2008 (2237 hrs)
TKW: 100 kg
Remarks:
The larger individuals from this fall met with tragic fates, shattering upon the rocky terrain at impact. The typically exceptional reporting of Dr. Svend Buhl can be seen for this spectacular fall at www.meteorite-recon.com, and page 3 of this report is exclusively dedicated to the specimen shown below. It is all but unprecedented to see a specimen so well documented in the field by locals in this part of the world, and hopefully this will be a sign of things to come in the future.
