My first official meteorite hunt, an 800-mile trek across most of New Mexico and parts of Texas chasing the September 13, 2007, video taped fireball which thus far has not been located, led to this "discovery." After giving up on the fireball and heading to Roosevelt County to search a dry salt lake bed (and only finding a giant tarantula), I "found" this meteorite in a mineral and gem store in downtown Albuquerque.
